Alternative Energy Architectures
As the demand for electricity increases across the globe, a new generation of higher efficiency power generation systems that also meet new and emerging environmental standards needs to be developed. Fuel Cell systems represent a natural evolution in power generation by offering higher system efficiency and reliability, using not only the readily available fuels of today, but also the alternative fuels of the future, all while meeting emerging environmental standards.
Optimum Wisdom Laboratories expects to be a part of this alternative energy evolution, not by following the main line evolutionary path, but by focusing on related branches of this technology. After all, it is the branches, not the trunk, that produce flowers and fruit. Their current research and development focus is energy efficiency:
the cleanest alternative energy, the cheapest alternative energy, the energy we DON'T use.

Adaptive Control |
An adaptive control system and architecture that harnesses the synergy between energy storage devices and hydrogen and hydrocarbon fueled power generators. Adaptive Power Control demonstrates that for systems with large dynamic electrical loads, the adaptive control and learning algorithms improves fuel use for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) by a factor of 2.6 over other fuel cell system control architectures and improves fuel use for mechanical AC generators by a factor of 7 over traditional mechanical AC generator systems.

Kestrel |
Kestrel is a Windows based home automation program designed to provide a low cost, simple, easy-to-use interface for both immediate control and autonomous timer control of INSTEON Dimmer and Switch devices. Kestrel is named after the American kestrel, the smallest and most common falcon in North America and the most abundant daytime raptor on the continent.
Like its namesake, Kestrel is small, intuitive, and agile. Kestrel controls and manages INSTEON Dimmer and Switch devices using the SmartHome PowerLink Controller (PLC #2414U). Unlike other home automation systems that require the computer to be on and connected for timer support, Kestrel uploads all programmed timer events to the SmartHome PowerLink Controller (PLC #2414U) so timed events occur even when the computer is off or disconnected from the (PLC). SmartHome no longer manufactures nor offers driver support for the PowerLink Controller (PLC #2414U). Kestrel depends on the driver, so Optimum Wisdom Laboratories can not officially offer Kestrel for sale. |
